Dad

To all of us you are known as "dad" by name,

but being one and being called one are not always the same.

Though you show your support on birthdays and holidays,

there are a lot of other times we need your love in many ways.

Though it is hard for you to show that you really care,

it is important for us to know that you are there.

We don't know if you don't realize or just can't see,

time is short and we need more than just a memory.

Much too often unspoken words are held in far too long, 

then suddenly you look and your loved ones are gone.

Now is the time to share and to love while we are still alive           and well,

because one moment we could be here and then gone the next, you can never tell.

All you have to do is reach out and offer your hand,

and even if it takes a little while, we'll understand.

Just show your love for us before it's too late,

because with love you know, it just can't wait.

 

 

Twinkle, Twinkle Our Precious Little Star

 

Oh twinkle, twinkle our precious little star,

we miss you, but know you are happy where you are.

Though you will not be here with us this Christmas year,

we know you are at peace, for this we do not fear.

This Christmas we know you will recieve a gift other than a toy,

for God will give you the gift of his love and peace and joy.

At this time of year may our hearts be eased from sadnness and pain,

as we look forward to one day sharing Christmas with you once again.

Though this Christmas it will be hard to be merry without you near,

we know you're smiling down at us and your heart is filled with cheer.

God bless and Merry Christmas to you in Heaven where you are,

oh how we love and miss you, our twinkle, twinkle perecious little star.
